About The Photographer
Arleen Thomas: Certified Professional Photographer
Arleen’s perspective on real life events has been cultivated by her travels throughout the world. She has ventured to more than 20 countries and has refined her artistic eye in capturing the beauty of the indigenous people and the country’s landscapes.
Arleen will travel near and far, and on her hands and knees, to get the perfect picture- as she has done by backpacking the Machu Picchu trail of Peru, rambling the giant blocks of the Giza Pyramids in Egypt, ascending the peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro of Tanzania,
crawling through the Chu Chi Tunnels of Vietnam, and plunging the depths of the Costa Rican waters to be with sharks, just to name a few!
Arleen recently won a one-week vacation to Paris through International Interval Resorts upon entering an
underwater photograph.
Her work has also been published in magazines and newsletters. In order to
be current with the quickly changing photography world, Arleen is a member of the Northern California Professional Photographers (NCPP) and the Professional Photographers of America (PPA).
Arleen recently received title as a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP),
which the Professional Photographic Certification Commission currently recognize
less than 2,000 CPPs to date.
On the calmer side of things, Arleen has competed in martial arts and triathlons,
and took up motorcycling and recently, kite surfing. She cruises around on her
Harley and motor crosses the mountains of Mendocino to the sands of the Bajas, with a camera slung to her side to capture that once-in-a-lifetime
photograph.
Arleen's newest recreation involves a baby boy, Kai, whom she gave birth
to in February 2006. She finds that motherhood is the greatest adventure
of all- and worth trading her Harley and sports car for!
